The Host by Pancake-mix The Host by Pancake-mix
This was based on the idea of a living "Queen" Bee, being the host body and life of her colony. I wish I had made more honeycomb pieces, but I'm happy with how it turned out!

This is AMAZING. May I ask how you made the honey comb bits?

They're made from latex and I actually posted a couple step by step photos on my FB page [link]

I like!! It would be perfect if the bees looked a bit more real though. but good work! :)

Unfortunately these were the best I could find at the time. The best bees out there were like $300 a piece! But man were they perfect looking, haha. You'd think fake bees would come in more options other then craft and hyper realism, eh?

I appreciate it! But yeah. Aside from having real bees, if I had the choice I'd get better looking ones if they were out there for a reasonable price.

Is Hopie wearing contacts or...? Just curious, because that's really cool looking.

Nope. Just a bit of 'shoppin. Originally we had black scleras I wanted to use but they tore. SO. The back up was some honey coloring.

Oh, that's a shame. That would have looked really cool too. But, photoshop always works nicely. I must say you've done an excellent job. An interesting concept as well.

Agreed. I prefer to do as much in real life as possible, with contacts and everything BUT those can get expensive. Thanks though!
