Artist's Comments

So, it's not as epic as I wanted it to be. There are a TON of improvements that could be made, especially now after the con thrashing it took, but it turned out decent enough.

The mask is attached to my bonnet, which is attached to a helmet on the inside (Bob The Builder thrift world helmet... WIN.) The jacket is made of vinyl, and I made my own pattern for it (by laying on the paper and drawing around me... ahaaa. My PM teacher would cry if she knew) The skirt is made of an amazing fabric that looks like burlap, without actually BEING burlap. I didn't actually want that much of my petticoat showing, but it turned out okay. The gloves are just sewn and stuffed, then attached to hangers, since my hands weren't actually that long. The shoes are covered crocs... AND ADORABLE. >: D

I have to thank Lex chan's mom for helping me create the illusion of "no waist." She just had me wear another petticoat (but up higher under my arms) so that I could be "poofy." I'm pretty sure I would have had a difficult time with that foam.... This was way easier.

Quina Quen - FFIX by ~Pancake-mix. The suggester wrote, "Froggies beware! Quina Quen is one of the most difficult character designs in Final Fantasy to adapt to a costume, but ~Pancake-mix accomplished it to delicious perfection. Her clever methods for creating this--partially from her own pattern--are as adorable as the finished work." (Suggested by ~BlackjackGabbiani and Featured by `Kitten-of-Woe)

Uh... well initial planning with different concepts started last July. I began gathering supplies in November, and didn't start construction until February until I finished in May. All in all, a little under a year? There was some prototypes I went through that didn't work. xD
